Video Contest Results

Donor's Choice First Prize

University of Stellenbosch, South Africa
During the "Colorful Optics Road Trip" program (3-15 July 2010, South Africa/Namibia) the Chapter visited various schools with learners of highly diverse backgrounds. These schools were mainly in Namibia but some were in South Africa. The show presented at these schools was educational in nature and aimed to convey fundamental optics in an entertaining and interactive way.

 

 

Donor's Choice Runner Up

Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India
Students were asked to make posters on "Light and its uses in daily life" before participating in the C.V. Raman Science Fair. During the Fair the Chapter members reviewed each poster and selected the three best posters.

  

 

 

People's Choice First Prize

University of Texas at Austin, USA
"UT Explore" is UT's annual open house event geared for children of any age and families to explore UT and have a taste of higher education. More than 50,000 visitors were expected, with at least 400 programs hosted by various departments on the main campus. In this experiment, we microwaved a light bulb (submerged in a water bath).
