Support for International Commission for Optics Programs

The International Commission for Optics (ICO) was created in 1947. It is an Affiliated Commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP), and has been a Scientific Associate of the International Council for Science (ICSU ) since 2005. The objective of the ICO is to contribute on an international basis to the progress and diffusion of knowledge in the field of optics.

Important Note: Donations to support International Commission for Optics (ICO) programs are made to the OSA Foundation (OSAF) and designated to the "International Programming Fund" which supports international educational, professional development and recognition programs in the field of optics. To facilitate this type of programming, the OSAF has established a fiscal sponsorship agreement with the ICO. Under this agreement, the OSAF retains full discretion and control over the use of the funds donated to the "International Programming Fund." The ICO is required to submit grant applications and program reports detailing the use of all support provided through this fund.
